There’s a part of building something that no one really talks about. Not the beginning, and not the finish line, but the middle. The space where things exist, but aren’t ready to be shared yet. I’ve been living there lately, surrounded by almost-finished work and learning to challenge the feeling of falling behind with acknowledgement of creating strong architecture. This quiet, messy, necessary construction shapes what eventually gets seen.

Have you ever noticed how the language of we use in photography—shoot, capture, take—is needlessly aggressive? This is my exploration of how words shape the subconscious, and the why behind my refusal to accept industry standard. “I Will Never Shoot You” is both a reflection and a promise.
