Year In Review: 2016

Happy New Year, my lovelies.

Nothing like a page turn of the calendar to make us pause and reflect on moments when we excelled or we came up short, the ups, the downs, the forgotten, and the yet-to-be-done of an entire year gone by.

Why do so many of us put importance on assessing our performances? I think it's because it keeps us feeling alive. It's nice to have intentional, positive reasons to get up in the morning. Something to look forward to. Something visceral, beautiful, beneficial, or even necessary to create.

Even when we are fortunately able to work in a field of our passion, details and follow-up and preparation for the next are non-stop, ever-present... um... uh... "motivators." And though we know that light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter, no matter how slow forward motion may seem, the bonus lies in actually seeing proof of our growth, am I right?

Numbers! Activity! Specifics!

It's great to see evidence of our time well spent.

So...

Here it is at the launch of a new year, and at what I consider the anniversary of my business (Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!), and there is no better time to share with you a quick look back at 2016 from the perspective of a bright-eyed entrepreneur who's so grateful for everything. I mean it. Everything.

“I have had the privilege of having my photos taken by Meka multiple times. Every time, I walk away feeling surprised that she is able to capture a part of me that I don't even see in myself when I look in the mirror. I feel beautiful! This has done wonders with helping me have a better view of myself in the world.”

Ida M

I'm soooooooo looking forward to a new year of knowing all of you, and creating your portraits.

xoxo,

Meka
